Bureau Veritas (India) Private Limited – CSR Team Visit to SSM Campus ...
Bureau Veritas (India) Private Limited (BVIL) CSR Head Ms. Shantha Pujari and CSR Lead Mr. Rajesh Darji visited the Sanskriti Samvardhan Mandal (SSM) campus as part of the ongoing review and support under the Gender Sensitization Skill Development Project. The project has been supported by BVIL for the past two years, during which 49 beneficiaries have successfully established their own small-scale units after receiving vocational training and technical guidance from SSM’s Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) and the Udyamita Learning Centre.
Field Visit and Interaction with Beneficiaries
The team visited several beneficiary-owned processing units in Basmat and nearby villages. They interacted with the entrepreneurs regarding their production processes, quality control, marketing challenges, and future expansion needs. The key beneficiaries visited were:
1. Shri. Sadashiv Chavhan: Engaged in processing of aloe vera, neem, karonda, and various herbal products. Discussed advanced processing techniques, licensing requirements, and potential market linkages.
2. Shri. Sham Deshpande: A trained beneficiary who earlier produced select herbal products. Has now diversified into lemon processing and masala preparation.
3. Smt. Sheetal Sadashiv Adkine:
Has initiated corunder processing and produces pickles, murabbas, and cherry products.
4. Balaji Soya Products: A small enterprise producing tofu from soybean with increasing demand in local markets.
The CSR team discussed future opportunities, value addition, business linkages, compliance processes, and growth strategies with all beneficiaries. They appreciated the progress made by trainees and encouraged them to scale their operations sustainably.
Visits to SSM Units
Along with field visits, the team also toured various development units at SSM, including vocational training facilities, processing units, and innovation centres and education wings. They expressed satisfaction with the structured training approach, technical support mechanisms, and entrepreneurial ecosystem developed by SSM.
