कृषि विज्ञान केंद्राच्या शास्त्रज्ञांचा शेतकऱ्यांसह ICRISAT येथे अभ्यासदौरा

दि. २४ एप्रिल २०२६ रोजी कृषि विज्ञान केंद्रातील शास्त्रज्ञांनी परिसरातील निवडक शेतकरी उत्पादक कंपन्यांच्या प्रतिनिधींसह ICRISAT या आंतरराष्ट्रीय संस्थेस अभ्यासदौरा आयोजित केला. या भेटीचा मुख्य उद्देश तूर पिकातील लवकर येणारे व संकरित वाणांचा अभ्यास करणे, बेडवर लागवड पद्धत (BBF) समजून घेणे, कोरडवाहू शेतीसाठी हवामान अनुकूल तंत्रज्ञान जाणून घेणे तसेच भविष्यात स्थानिक कृषी समस्यांच्या निराकरणासाठी ICRISAT सोबत समन्वय प्रस्थापित करणे हा होता.

ICRISAT (इक्रीसॅट) ही आंतरराष्ट्रीय अर्ध-शुष्क कटिबंध पीक संशोधन संस्था असून आशिया व उप-सहारा आफ्रिकेतील कोरडवाहू शेतीच्या विकासासाठी कार्यरत असलेली एक गैर-नफा संस्था आहे. तिचे मुख्यालय हैदराबाद येथे स्थित आहे. कोरडवाहू प्रदेशातील शेती अधिक उत्पादनक्षम, शाश्वत व हवामान बदलास तग धरणारी बनविण्यासाठी ही संस्था विविध संशोधन व तंत्रज्ञान विकास करते. विशेषतः ज्वारी, बाजरी, हरभरा, तूर व शेंगदाणा या पिकांवर सुधारित वाण विकसित करणे, मृदा व जलसंधारण व्यवस्थापन सुधारणे आणि नैसर्गिक संसाधनांचा कार्यक्षम वापर यावर भर दिला जातो.

या अभ्यासदौर्‍यादरम्यान तूर पिकातील ICPL-25444 व ICPL-22110 या लवकर येणाऱ्या वाणांसह संकरित वाणांची प्रत्यक्ष पाहणी करण्यात आली. तसेच बेडवर लागवड (BBF) तंत्रज्ञान, त्यासाठी वापरली जाणारी अवजारे, आणि कोरडवाहू शेतीसाठी उपयुक्त पद्धतींचा सखोल अभ्यास करण्यात आला. याशिवाय क्रॉप म्युझियमला भेट देऊन विविध संशोधन उपक्रमांची माहिती घेण्यात आली आणि ICRISAT च्या शास्त्रज्ञांसोबत भविष्यातील सहकार्याबाबत चर्चा करण्यात आली.

Study Visit of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Scientists with Farmers to ICRISAT
On April 24, 2026, scientists from the SSM Krishi Vigyan Kendra organized a study visit to ICRISAT, an international institute, along with representatives of selected Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) from the region. The main objective of this visit was to study early-maturing and hybrid varieties of pigeon pea, understand the Broad Bed and Furrow (BBF) method of cultivation, learn about climate-resilient technologies suitable for dryland farming, and establish coordination with ICRISAT for addressing local agricultural challenges in the future.
ICRISAT (International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics) is a non-profit international organization working for the development of dryland agriculture in Asia and sub-Saharan Africa, with its headquarters located in Hyderabad. The institute focuses on making agriculture in semi-arid regions more productive, sustainable, and resilient to climate change through research and technology development. It particularly emphasizes developing improved varieties of crops such as sorghum, pearl millet, chickpea, pigeon pea, and groundnut, along with improving soil and water management and promoting efficient use of natural resources.
During the visit, participants observed early-maturing pigeon pea varieties ICPL-25444 and ICPL-22110, along with hybrid varieties. They also gained in-depth knowledge about the BBF planting technique, the implements used for it, and other practices suitable for dryland farming. Additionally, the group visited the Crop Museum to learn about various research initiatives and held discussions with ICRISAT scientists regarding future collaboration.
The visit was attended by Mr. Sunilji Deshmukh from Sanskriti Samvardhan Mandal, Dr. Kapil Ingle, Prof. Venkat Shinde, and staff members Ravi Middalwar, Ram Patale, and Manik Muttyapod from Krishi Vigyan Kendra, along with representatives from six Farmer Producer Companies.
