Training program on the occasion of World Soil Day at KVK Sagroli
Dec. 5 2024 On the occasion of World Soil Day Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Sagroli, Nanded, recently hosted a successful training program under a special project on cotton. The event, held at the KVK Auditorium.
Dr. Ambhure K.G., Project Nodal Officer and SMS Plant Protection, highlighted the potential of closer spacing and High-Density Planting System (HDPS) technology in maximizing cotton yields in Nanded district. He addressed concerns about pest management, particularly Pink Bollworm, emphasizing a comprehensive approach, including canopy management and judicious use of chemical defoliants.
Prabhudas Udtewar, VNO/YP II under the Cotton Project, explained the Dada Lad cotton technology, covering topics from sowing methods to harvesting techniques.
Mr. Manik Shirgire, a progressive farmer under the Special Project on Cotton (SPC), shared his experience with closer spacing technology and urged fellow farmers to adopt this innovative approach.
KVK Sagroli continues to promote sustainable agricultural practices and empower farmers through informative programs. The center offers various facilities, including:

- Sericulture unit
- Poultry unit
- Custom hiring center for implements
